Also surviving is his companion for 37 years, Lu Jefferson of Stoneville. Lewis was a proud grandfather to grandson, Caleb Lewis and granddaughter, Gabrielle Lewis, both of Oak Ridge.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph S. Lewis was a retiree of DuPont, a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Stoneville, and delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. He married Louvenia “Lou” Rhodes and was the father of two children. He spent his entire life in Stoneville, NC and graduated from Stoneville High School in 1949. He was born on December 5, 1930, the son of Nathaniel Ray and Viola Patterson Lewis. He will be laid to rest in Stoneville Municipal Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1 - 2 PM) at Fair Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, March 10 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. of Stoneville, NC went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 7, 2019.
